What should I expect when I visit?
Each Sunday our worship includes singing, prayer, scripture reading,
communion, contribution, sermon and time for individual response.
Occasionally we will have other activities.  As our guest, you are invited
to join with us as we glorify God.

A Cappella Singing:  One of the unique things about churches of Christ is our
a cappella singing.  That simply means that we sing without the accompaniment
of musical instruments in our worship assemblies.  We pray you'll find our praise
time both beautiful and meaningful.  Our church family loves to sing praises to
God.

Prayer and Scripture Reading:  Through prayer and scripture reading, we talk
to and listen to God.

Communion (The Lord's Supper):  Each Sunday morning, we remember
Jesus' death on the cross and celebrate our resulting freedom from sin by
participating together in communion (the Lord's Supper).  During this memorial,
plates containing unleavened bread are passed throughout the congregation.
The bread symbolizes the body of Jesus as He sacrificed Himself on the cross.
Participants will break off a piece of bread, eat it, and meditate on His death on
their behalf.  Next, trays filled with individual cups are distributed.  The cups
contain grape juice symbolizing the blood of Jesus.  Each participant drinks the
contents of one cup and continues to think about the forgiveness God offers
through Jesus.  Communion is open to all baptized believers.

Weekly Contribution:  Each Sunday morning, plates are passed to collect the
weekly financial gifts of our members which support the ministries her a Lamar
Avenue and our missions around the world.

Message:  We have an exhortation that helps us focus on building a stronger
spiritual life.  Most Sundays, this will be delivered by our pulpit minister, Patrick
Cannon.

Songs for Meditation and Commitment:  At the conclusion of the message,
we sing songs to allow time for each of us to think about our own relationship with
God and the many ways He enriches our lives.  People are invited to respond by
coming to the front of the auditorium for baptism, prayer, or to indicate a desire to
become a member of our church family.
